Empowering Education through Innovation: ASC's Launch of EdTech Pilot Project in Collaboration with Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology


As Rwanda seeks to transform its education sector, Automated Systems Consulting Inc. (ASC) is joining the initiative to promote technology in classrooms. ASC, a member of the Haiti Rwanda Initiative (HRI), introduced this month the Promethean ActivPanel to Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology in Kigali, Rwanda, an all-Girl elite STEM school educating some of the brightest young minds in this Eastern African country. The new project aims to offer students more interactive and engaging tools for learning and promoting collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

This brings us to the sixth Edition of The Haiti-Rwanda Initiative, launched this month of February 2023 with the focus on a Pilot Project in Education Technology (EdTech) in collaboration with Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, an all-girl elite STEM school in Kigali. ASC’s tech team deployed 4 Promethean ActivPanels, a state-of-the-art touchscreen display that combines multi-touch interactivity, high-quality visuals, and powerful software to create immersive and interactive learning environments in Gashora classrooms. The technology enables teachers to deliver dynamic lessons and engage students of all learning styles, from visual to kinesthetic, to auditory.


ASC CEO Andy Numa said the technology would have a significant impact on the quality of education and learning outcomes of the students. By providing students with immersive digital environments, the ActivPanel offers an innovative and engaging way for students to explore, discover, and create, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The pilot initiative includes the installation of Promethean ActivPanel displays in selected classrooms at Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, teacher training, and ongoing support from ASC.

The project marks ASC's commitment to promoting the use of innovative technology in education and improving the quality of learning for students worldwide. ASC's goal is to provide students with the most innovative and engaging tools available to inspire their creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.

Atete Rugegea, Head Of School at Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, welcomed the initiative and said the Promethean ActivPanel would enable teachers to deliver more dynamic and interactive lessons, engaging students in new ways. The technology will help students reach their full potential, regardless of their learning style.

Cavé has become a prolific songwriter, with a catalogue of songs and unreleased recordings in English, French, and Haitian Creole. When once asked what inspires him, he answered simply: “Life and people”. He said he would prefer to be remembered as writer and composer, as it takes not just talent, but passion, aspiration, discipline and hard work to write songs and release an album. He is a sought-after performer in the French-Caribbean community.

Cavé has collaborated with some known kompa artists and bands of the French Caribbean such as Malavoi, Mario DeVolcy, Tanya Saint-ValHaddy N'jie and Roy Shirley. In 2001 he launched his first solo album, Se Pa Pou Dat, which was an enormous success. This album seems to transcend barriers of language and cultural sound, with its melodies popular in Japan, Africa and South America, even though listeners may not understand the words.
