That it felt as if Frantz Charlemagne had tapped into a mystical realm of premonition. The exhibition, aptly named "Premonition & Reality," became a mesmerizing portal for the viewers, blurring the boundaries between the artist's imagination and the unfolding catastrophe that shook Haiti to its core.

Frantz Charlemagne, a visionary artist with an intuitive connection to his surroundings, used his canvas as a medium to express the complexity of the human experience. His works were not mere representations of physical landscapes; they delved deeper into the emotions, struggles, and hopes of his people. With an acute understanding of his country's history, Charlemagne painted with an urgency that seemed to transcend the boundaries of time.

In December 2010, at the Center for Haitian Studies in Miami, Florida, Lobey Art & Travel unveiled a collection of Charlemagne's paintings that sent shivers down the spine of every viewer. The vivid colors, the frenetic brushstrokes, and the haunting imagery seemed to foretell the tragedy that struck Port-au-Prince just a month before the exhibition.

Charlemagne's depiction of chaos and desperation on his canvases was eerily reminiscent of the scenes that unfolded in the wake of the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. The twisted wreckage of buildings, the cries for help, and the sorrow etched on the faces of survivors mirrored the haunting imagery portrayed in his artworks. It was as though Charlemagne's brush had whispered secrets of impending doom, capturing the collective unconsciousness of a nation on the brink of disaster.

Others believed that his deep understanding of Haiti's socio-political landscape and his acute observation of its people allowed him to foresee the fragility of their existence. Regardless of the explanation, there was an undeniable sense of mysticism and premonition embedded in his art.
